“Miyuki-san, you don’t call those faults. You call those ‘moé’ points.” (Lucky Star Volume 1, p. 15.)

This article is about otaku jargon.

Takara Miyuki is the most moé in Lucky Star.

Moé (萌え) is a term used to describe a certain kind of cute character in manga and anime, and the affections an otaku has for them. Lucky Star is a moé franchise, with the characters having strong moé characteristics. Among them, Takara Miyuki is the most moé.

I have never been able to find a really satisfactory one-word translation for [moé]... not exactly fetish, not exactly infatuation, not exactly a turn-on... hmm... (Rika Takahashi, trans., Lucky Star, vol. 1, English ed., p. 150, by Yoshimizu Kagami.)
