Lucky Star (Japanese らきすた, hepburn raki suta, stylized as らき☆すた) is a Japanese moé franchise revolving around the daily lives of several high school girls. The main characters are Izumi Konata (an idealized but lazy otaku) and her friends Hiiragi Kagami (a typical tsundere), Hiiragi Tsukasa (a shy and gentle girl), and Takara Miyuki (a meganekko known as Miwiki due to her love for relaying encyclopedic knowledge). Created by Yoshimizu Kagami and originating as a four-panel manga published in the Comptiq magazine beginning in December 2003, it has since spawned several anime adaptions, audio dramas, music albums, light-novels, spin-offs and video games.
